Windrow Manager

Sampling Equipment

Sampling equipment includes a field sampling probe and armored iPAQ Pocket PC that automatically stores the temperature and oxygen samples in the field. The data is then downloaded directly to the Windrow Manager desktop software, eliminating the need for writing and data entry. Probes are available for sampling temperature and oxygen, or temperature only.

GMT has made improvements to the sampling probe to make it easier to use and more robust in the field. The new probe has a two sturdy handle grips to make insertion and carrying the probe more convenient. We also eliminated the separate DAF module and incorporated the electronics into a single enclosure on the probe. We offer a model with Bluetooth wireless connectivity to the Pocket PC in addition to the standard hard wired versions. Oxygen models use a new hydrophobic filter design, which protects the O2 sensor and reduces the chance of sensor failure. We also expect to have a compost moisture/temperature model available soon.
